EVALUATION question 2

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

The specific elements that I used across the 3 different tasks was the costume, throughout the tasks I the artist who was included throughout was wearing a suit and the imagery was in grey scale to throughout.

For example on the music advertisement and on the digipack the artist is standing smoking a cigarette from different angles and isn't looking at the camera, in comparison to the music video when there was lip syncing the artist looked directly ahead at the camera however he was in the same apparel as he was in the digipack and advertisement.

This is why i used a minimalistic and grey scale feel to my own MMA and Digipack, so that it matches the rest of the MMA's and the Digipacks within the genre for example as shown in this example the key colours are black and shades of grey, this gives a very basic, minimalistic and dark feel to the cover. This is carried across all of my 3 products to show a direct link between all 3.

I also used a shadowing effect across my products to give more contrast between the light and the dark bringing out the light sections more towards the viewers eyes within the foreground. i had a difficult time creating this equally across my products as the different lighting within the images meant that i needed different settings for a similar effect changing brightness, saturation and shadowing influence within the pictures in order to get the light/shadow balance correct throughout.

However contradictory throughout the 3 products that was in comparison to the Digipack and the MMA the music video did not have greyscaleing, the reason behind this is that during a music video the audience requires colour to keep interested as the focus is on the features of the artist and the grey-scale would appear as boring, this is why I used this contradictory.
